Northop Hall Girls and Ladies FC tournament 2026

The Northop Hall Girls and Ladies FC Tournament is a two-day grassroots football event bringing together teams from across the region for a weekend of football, competition, and fun. Teams compete through group stages, semi-finals and finals, with Champions League, Europa League and Conference League trophies available in each age group.

When is the tournament?

The Northop Hall Girls and Ladies FC Tournament 2026 takes place over two days:

Saturday 13 June 2026

  • Morning: Under 8s, Under 13s and Under 17s
  • Afternoon: Under 7s, Under 10s and Ladies

Sunday 14 June 2026

  • Morning: Under 9s and Under 11s
  • Afternoon: Under 12s and Under 14s

Facilities and refreshments

The following facilities will be available throughout the weekend:

  • On-site parking
  • Food and drink vendors
  • Toilets
  • Changing rooms
  • First aid provision

We kindly ask that:

  • no BBQs are used on site
  • no alcohol is brought on site.
  • dogs are kept on a lead and away from the pitches. Any mess must be cleaned up and disposed of responsibly.

Parking

Parking is available on site. Please follow the directions of traffic stewards on arrival.

Who can take part?

The tournament is open to grassroots girls’ football teams in the following age groups:

Saturday 13 June

  • Under 7s
  • Under 8s
  • Under 10s
  • Under 13s
  • Under 17s
  • Ladies

Sunday 14 June

  • Under 9s
  • Under 11s
  • Under 12s
  • Under 14s

How to take part

A limited number of places are still available in some age groups. Availability is updated regularly, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The latest availability is:

  • U7 – 5 spaces remaining
  • U8 – 1 space remaining
  • U9 – 3 spaces remaining
  • U10 – 2 spaces remaining
  • U11 – 6 spaces remaining
  • U12 – 1 space remaining
  • U14 – 3 spaces remaining
  • U17 – 5 spaces remaining

The following age groups are currently full:

  • U13
  • Ladies

Spectators

There is a £2 entry fee for spectators

Referees wanted

Northop Hall Girls and Ladies FC are also looking for referees to support the tournament weekend.

Referees will receive:

  • £40 per session (morning or afternoon)
  • £80 for a full day
  • Food voucher included
  • Drink voucher included

Tournament format

Teams will compete through a group stage, followed by semi-finals and finals.

Three competitions are available within each age group:

  • Champions League
  • Europa League
  • Conference League

Each team will play every other team in their group, with progression based on league position.

Points are awarded as follows:

  • Win: 3 points
  • Draw: 1 point
  • Loss: 0 points

Group rankings are determined by:

  • Points
  • Goal difference
  • Goals scored
  • Head-to-head record
  • Penalty shootout

There is no maximum squad size. Teams reaching a final will receive up to 10 medals.

Fixtures and updates

Fixtures, groups and kick-off times will be published through Tournify before the tournament. A link will be shared with participating teams once the final schedule has been confirmed.

Teams may also be invited to age-group WhatsApp groups, which will be used to share updates and important information before and during the tournament.


Tournament rules

Select one of the following for more information:

All games will be 10 minutes one way.

There will be a 2-minute break between games.

Teams not ready to play within 2 minutes of kick-off will forfeit the match, and a 3-0 result will be awarded to the opposition.

There is no offside rule.

All free kicks are direct.

Opposition players must stand 5 yards away from the ball.

Semi-finals and finals ending in a draw will be decided by a penalty shootout.

Penalty shootouts will be best of three.

If scores remain level, sudden death penalties will be used.

Penalties must be taken by players on the pitch at the final whistle.

Unlimited substitutions are allowed.

Players can be substituted at any time using a roll-on, roll-off system.

Goalkeepers may handle the ball within their designated area.

Goalkeepers cannot kick the ball from their hands.

Drop kicks and half volleys are permitted.

Goal kicks may be taken from anywhere within the goalkeeper’s area.

U7s to U9s will restart play with pass-ins rather than throw-ins.

Teams cannot score directly from a pass-in or throw-in.

For U7s to U9s, opponents must retreat to the halfway line for goal kicks.

All players must wear shin pads.

Appropriate football footwear must be worn.
